Garamendi Hosts Work Day in 8th Congressional District

SOLANO AND CONTRA COSTA COUNTIES—Today, Congressman John Garamendi (D-CA) hosted meetings throughout Solano and Contra Costa Counties. Garamendi recently announced he is running for re-election in the 8th Congressional District, which includes portions of Solano and North Contra Costa Counties.

“It was a pleasure to visit Benicia, Martinez, Hercules, Pinole, Vallejo, and El Cerrito yesterday to meet with local elected officials, business owners, and workforce advocates throughout the 8th Congressional District,” Garamendi said.

“I discussed my ongoing support for apprenticeship and workforce training programs with Ironworkers Union Local 378 at their apprenticeship training center in Benicia,” Garamendi continued.

“I also met with elected officials throughout the 8th Congressional District to discuss the ways we can deliver benefits from the Infrastructure and Jobs Act and the American Rescue Plan throughout Contra Costa and Solano Counties,” Garamendi continued.

“I helped craft and pass the Infrastructure and Jobs Act and the American Rescue Plan—two generational laws to fight the pandemic, rebuild our infrastructure, and support the middle class. I am working every day to ensure all Californians receive the support these new laws offer,” Garamendi continued.

“I also shared my commitment to pass the Build Back Better Act and new voting rights legislation to continue the progress the Democratic majority in Congress has created,” Garamendi continued.

“We have accomplished so much, and we have more work ahead of us to grow the economy, protect the right to vote, save our environment, lower healthcare costs, and more,” Garamendi concluded.
